“Pick up the phone and talk to your friend” has become old. Now it is “boot up the videoconferencing systems and talk to all your friends.” Notice the difference. Well, the difference is primarily that we are no longer living in World 1.0 (akin to Web 1.0); instead we are living in World 2.0 (akin to Web 2.0). The difference is that the new world is all about networking, interacting, and collaborating.

The old world was all about cocooning and maintaining linear on-is-to-one relationships.

The very concept of video conferencing is exciting. You can read up more about it on Wikipedia.

If you have not tried videoconferencing yet, this is a good time to do it. Otherwise the world will pass you by.
